In the context of random amenable group actions, we introduce the notions of random upper metric mean dimension with potentials and the random upper measure-theoretical metric mean dimension. Besides, we establish a variational principle for the random upper metric mean dimensions. At the end, we study the equilibrium state for random upper metric mean dimensions.

Let Σ be a σ-algebra of subsets of a set Ω and $B(\Sigma)$ be the Banach space of all bounded Σ-measurable scalar functions on Ω. Let $\tau(B(\Sigma),ca(\Sigma))$ denote the natural Mackey topology on $B(\Sigma)$. It is shown that a linear operator T from $B(\Sigma)$ to a Banach space E is Bochner representable if and only if T is a nuclear operator between the locally convex space $(B(\Sigma),\tau(B(\Sigma),ca(\Sigma)))$ and the Banach space E. We derive a formula for the trace of a Bochner representable operator $T:B({\cal B} o)\rightarrow B({\cal B} o)$ generated by a function $f\in L^1({\cal B} o, C(\Omega))$, where Ω is a compact Hausdorff space.

We analyse the asymptotic dynamics of quasilinear parabolic equations when solutions may grow up (i.e. blow up in infinite time). For such models, there is a global attractor which is unbounded and the semiflow induces a nonlinear dynamics at infinity by means of a Poincaré projection. In case the dynamics at infinity is given by a semilinear equation, then it is gradient, consisting of the so-called equilibria at infinity and their corresponding heteroclinics. Moreover, the diffusion and reaction compete for the dimensionality of the induced dynamics at infinity. If the equilibria are hyperbolic, we explicitly prove the occurrence of heteroclinics between bounded equilibria and/or equilibria at infinity. These unbounded global attractors describe the space of admissible initial data at event horizons of certain black holes.

Let f(x) and g(x) be polynomials in $\mathbb F_{2}[x]$ with ${\rm deg}\text{ } f=n$. It is shown that for $n\gg 1$, there is an $g_{1}(x)\in \mathbb F_{2}[x]$ with ${\rm deg}\text{ } g_{1}\leqslant \max\{{\rm deg}\text{ } g, 6.7\log n\}$ and $g(x)-g_{1}(x)$ having $ \lt 6.7\log n$ terms such that $\gcd(f(x), g_{1}(x))=1$. As an application, it is established using a result of Dubickas and Sha that given $f(x)\in \mathbb F_{2}[x]$ of degree $n\geqslant 1$, there is a separable $g(x)\in 2[x]$ with ${\rm deg}\text{ } g= {\rm deg}\text{ } f$ and satisfying that $f(x)-g(x)$ has $\leqslant 6.7\log n$ terms. As a simple consequence, the latter result holds in $\mathbb Z[x]$ after replacing ‘number of terms’ by the L1-norm of a polynomial and $6.7\log n$ by $6.8\log n$. This improves the bound $(\log n)^{\log 4 +\operatorname{\varepsilon}}$ obtained by Filaseta and Moy.

In this paper, we consider the question of smoothness of slowly varying functions satisfying the modern definition that, in the last two decades, gained prevalence in the applications concerning function spaces and interpolation. We show that every slowly varying function of this type is equivalent to a slowly varying function that has continuous classical derivatives of all orders.

Li, Ma and Wang have provided in [13] a partial classification of the so-called Moebius deformable hypersurfaces, that is, the umbilic-free Euclidean hypersurfaces $f\colon M^n\to \mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ that admit non-trivial deformations preserving the Moebius metric. For $n\geq 5$, the classification was completed by the authors in [12]. In this article we obtain an infinitesimal version of that classification. Namely, we introduce the notion of an infinitesimal Moebius variation of an umbilic-free immersion $f\colon M^n\to \mathbb{R}^m$ into Euclidean space as a one-parameter family of immersions $f_t\colon M^n\to \mathbb{R}^m$, with $t\in (-\epsilon, \epsilon)$ and $f_0=f$, such that the Moebius metrics determined by ft coincide up to the first order. Then we characterize isometric immersions $f\colon M^n\to \mathbb{R}^m$ of arbitrary codimension that admit a non-trivial infinitesimal Moebius variation among those that admit a non-trivial conformal infinitesimal variation, and use such characterization to classify the umbilic-free Euclidean hypersurfaces of dimension $n\geq 5$ that admit non-trivial infinitesimal Moebius variations.

We construct and study the moduli of stable hypersurfaces in toric orbifolds. Let X be a projective toric orbifold and $\alpha \in \operatorname{Cl}(X)$ an ample class. The moduli space is constructed as a quotient of the linear system $|\alpha|$ by $G = \operatorname{Aut}(X)$. Since the group G is non-reductive in general, we use new techniques of non-reductive geometric invariant theory. Using the A-discriminant of Gelfand, Kapranov and Zelevinsky, we prove semistability for quasismooth hypersurfaces of toric orbifolds. Further, we prove the existence of a quasi-projective moduli space of quasismooth hypersurfaces in a weighted projective space when the weighted projective space satisfies a certain condition. We also discuss how to proceed when this condition is not satisfied. We prove that the automorphism group of a quasismooth hypersurface of weighted projective space is finite excluding some low degrees.

We study a maximal average along a family of curves $\{(t,m(x_1)\gamma(t)):t\in [-r,r]\}$, where $\gamma|_{[0,\infty)}$ is a convex function and m is a measurable function. Under the assumption of the doubling property of $\gamma'$ and $1\leqslant m(x_1)\leqslant 2$, we prove the $L^p(\mathbb{R}^2)$ boundedness of the maximal average. As a corollary, we obtain the pointwise convergence of the average in r > 0 without any size assumption for a measurable m.

This paper is inspired by a class of infinite order differential operators arising in quantum mechanics. They turned out to be an important tool in the investigation of evolution of superoscillations with respect to quantum fields equations. Infinite order differential operators act naturally on spaces of holomorphic functions or on hyperfunctions. Recently, infinite order differential operators have been considered and characterized on the spaces of entire monogenic functions, i.e. functions that are in the kernel of the Dirac operators. The focus of this paper is the characterization of infinite order differential operators that act continuously on a different class of hyperholomorphic functions, called slice hyperholomorphic functions with values in a Clifford algebra or also slice monogenic functions. This function theory has a very reach associated spectral theory and both the function theory and the operator theory in this setting are subjected to intensive investigations. Here we introduce the concept of proximate order and establish some fundamental properties of entire slice monogenic functions that are crucial for the characterization of infinite order differential operators acting on entire slice monogenic functions.

Consider the multiplication operator MB in $L^2(\mathbb{T})$, where the symbol B is a finite Blaschke product. In this article, we characterize the commutant of MB in $L^2(\mathbb{T})$. As an application of this characterization result, we explicitly determine the class of conjugations commuting with $M_{z^2}$ or making $M_{z^2}$ complex symmetric by introducing a new class of conjugations in $L^2(\mathbb{T})$. Moreover, we analyse their properties while keeping the whole Hardy space, model space and Beurling-type subspaces invariant. Furthermore, we extended our study concerning conjugations in the case of finite Blaschke products.

In this paper, we introduce topologically IGH-stable, IGH-persistent,average IGH-persistent and pointwise weakly topologically IGH-stable homeomorphisms of compact metric spaces. We prove that every topologically IGH-stable homeomorphism is topologically stable and every expansive topologically stable homeomorphism of a compact manifold is topologically IGH-stable. We further prove that every equicontinuous pointwise weakly topologically IGH-stable homeomorphism is IGH-persistent and every pointwise minimally expansive IGH-persistent homeomorphism is pointwise weakly topologically IGH-stable. Finally, we prove that every mean equicontinuous pointwise weakly topologically IGH-stable homeomorphism is average IGH-persistent.

A variety is finitely universal if its lattice of subvarieties contains an isomorphic copy of every finite lattice. We show that the 6-element Brandt monoid generates a finitely universal variety of monoids and, by the previous results, it is the smallest generator for a monoid variety with this property. It is also deduced that the join of two Cross varieties of monoids can be finitely universal. In particular, we exhibit a finitely universal variety of monoids with uncountably many subvarieties which is the join of two Cross varieties of monoids whose lattices of subvarieties are the 6-element and the 7-element chains, respectively.

Given a cocycle on a topological quiver by a locally compact group, the author constructs a skew product topological quiver and determines conditions under which a topological quiver can be identified as a skew product. We investigate the relationship between the ${C^*}$-algebra of the skew product and a certain native coaction on the ${C^*}$-algebra of the original quiver, finding that the crossed product by the coaction is isomorphic to the skew product. As an application, we show that the reduced crossed product by the dual action is Morita equivalent to the ${C^*}$-algebra of the original quiver.

We classify the automorphic Lie algebras of equivariant maps from a complex torus to $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$. For each case, we compute a basis in a normal form. The automorphic Lie algebras correspond precisely to two disjoint families of Lie algebras parametrised by the modular curve of $\mathrm{PSL}_2({\mathbb{Z}})$, apart from four cases, which are all isomorphic to Onsager’s algebra.

In this paper, we study the functional given by the integral of the mean curvature of a convex set with Gaussian weight with Gaussian volume constraint. It was conjectured that the ball centred at the origin is the only minimizer of such a functional for certain values of the mass. We prove that this is the case in dimension 2 while in higher dimension the situation is different. In fact, for small values of mass, the ball centred at the origin is a local minimizer, while for larger values the ball is a maximizer among convex sets with a uniform bound on the curvature.

Given a non-negative integer n and a ring R with identity, we construct a hereditary abelian model structure on the category of left R-modules where the class of cofibrant objects coincides with $\mathcal{GF}_n(R)$ the class of left R-modules with Gorenstein flat dimension at most n, the class of fibrant objects coincides with $\mathcal{F}_n(R)^\perp$ the right ${\rm Ext}$-orthogonal class of left R-modules with flat dimension at most n, and the class of trivial objects coincides with $\mathcal{PGF}(R)^\perp$ the right ${\rm Ext}$-orthogonal class of PGF left R-modules recently introduced by Šaroch and . The homotopy category of this model structure is triangulated equivalent to the stable category $\underline{\mathcal{GF}(R)\cap\mathcal{C}(R)}$ modulo flat-cotorsion modules and it is compactly generated when R has finite global Gorenstein projective dimension.

The second part of this paper deals with the PGF dimension of modules and rings. Our results suggest that this dimension could serve as an alternative definition of the Gorenstein projective dimension. We show, among other things, that (n-)perfect rings can be characterized in terms of Gorenstein homological dimensions, similar to the classical ones, and the global Gorenstein projective dimension coincides with the global PGF dimension.
