Let G be a p-adic connected reductive algebraic group and K a maximal compact subgroup of G. In [4], Casselman obtained the explicit formula of zonal spherical functions on G with respect to K on the assumption that K is special. It is known (Bruhat and Tits [3]) that the affine root system of algebraic group which has good but not special maximal compact subgroup is A1 C2, or Bn (n > 3), and all Bn-types can be realized by orthogonal groups. Here the assumption “good” is necessary for the Satake’s theory of spherical functions.

In this paper we describe a canonical procedure for constructing the extension of a G-foliation on a differentiable manifold X to its tangent bundles of higher order and by applying the Bott-Haefliger’s construction of characteristic classes of G-foliations ([2], [3]) we obtain an infinite sequence of characteristic classes for those foliations (Theorem 4.8).

The purpose of this paper is to define minimality of surfaces in an infinite dimensional space E by probabilistic methods with the description of the relation between minimal surfaces and harmonic functions on the space E, and to analyze purely analytic properties of a certain class of quadratic forms on the space E.

We establish explicit isomorphisms of two seemingly-different algebras, and their Schur algebras, arising from the centralizers of two different type B Weyl group actions in Schur-like dualities. We provide a presentation of the geometric counterpart of the above Schur algebras in [1] specialized at $q=1$ .

The famous Picard theorem states that a holomorphic mapping f: C → P1(C) omitting distinct three points must be constant. Borel [1] showed that a non-degenerate holomorphic curve can miss at most n + 1 hyperplanes in Pn(C) in general position, thus extending Picard’s theorem (n = 1). Recently, Fujimoto [3], Green [4] and [5] obtained many Picard type theorems using Borel’s methods for holomorphic mappings.

The rotational part of the holonomy group of a Riemann space is called its homogeneous holonomy group. A Riemann space, whose homogeneous holonomy group is one-parametric, was investigated by Liber and an alternative treatment of the same problem was given by S. Sasaki [1]. I will treat here a Riemann space with two-parametric homogeneous holonomy group and prove the following theorem by the method analogous to that of [1]. I thank Prof. T. Ootuki for his kind advice.

Recently M. Ikeda [1] succeeded in determining the structure of absolutely segregated algebras, i.e. algebras whose 2-cohomology groups all vanish. His beautiful result reads : an algebra A, of finite rank over its ground field, is absolutely segregated if and only if i) the residue-algebra A/N modulo the radical N is separable and, moreover, ii) the A-left-module N is an (Mo)-module. A. simplification was given by H. Nagao [5], who obtained, besides an interesting-result on algebras with vanishing 3-(or higher) cohomology groups, an elegant short proof to the fact that under the assumption of i), the property ii) is necessary, and sufficient, for the absolute segregation of A.

This paper includes a proof, relative to the consistency of ZFC, of the consistency of ZFC, the continuum has singular cardinality and the extended plus-one hypothesis.

In this paper we generalize results of the third paper of this series. As a corollary we can show the following: Let Li (1 ≤ i ≤ n) be a positive definite quadratic form which is equivalent to one of Cartan matrices of Lie algebras of type An (n ≥ 2), Dn (n ≥ 4), E6, E7, E8 and assume that is positive definite quadratic forms and satisfies that rk Mt ≥ 2 and implies rk K or rk L = 1. We continue the work started in parts (I) and (II) of this series. In this paper, we classify which continuous quivers of type A are derived equivalent. Next, we define the new ${\mathcal {C}(A_{{\mathbb {R}},S})}$ , which we call weak continuous cluster category. It is a triangulated category, it does not have cluster structure but it has a new weaker notion of “cluster theory.” We show that the original continuous cluster category of [15] is a localization of this new weak continuous cluster category. We define cluster theories to be appropriate groupoids and we show that cluster structures satisfy the conditions for cluster theories. We describe the relationship between different cluster theories: some new and some obtained from cluster structures. The notion of continuous mutation which appears in cluster theories (but not in cluster structures) appears in the next paper [20].

We shall discuss in this paper some problems in non-linear prediction theory. An Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process {U(t)} is taken to be a basic process, and we shall deal with stochastic processes X(t) that are transformed by functions f satisfying certain condition. Actually, observed processes are expressed in the form X(t) = f(U(t)). Our main problem is to obtain the best non-linear predictor X̂(t, τ) for X(t + τ), τ > 0, assuming that X(s), s ≤t, are observed. The predictor is therefore a non-linear functional of the values X(s), s ≤ t.
