The present article is devoted to the study of global solution and large time behaviour of solution for the isentropic compressible Euler system with source terms in $\mathbb {R}^d$, $d\geq 1$, which extends and improves the results obtained by Sideris et al. in ‘T.C. Sideris, B. Thomases, D.H. Wang, Long time behavior of solutions to the 3D compressible Euler equations with damping, Comm. Partial Differential Equations 28 (2003) 795–816’. We first establish the existence and uniqueness of global smooth solution provided the initial datum is sufficiently small, which tells us that the damping terms can prevent the development of singularity in small amplitude. Next, under the additional smallness assumption, the large time behaviour of solution is investigated, we only obtain the algebra decay of solution besides the $L^2$-norm of $\nabla u$ is exponential decay.

Given $a,\,b\in \mathbb {R}$ and $\Phi \in C^{1}(\mathbb {S}^{2})$, we study immersed oriented surfaces $\Sigma$ in the Euclidean 3-space $\mathbb {R}^{3}$ whose mean curvature $H$ and Gauss curvature $K$ satisfy $2aH+bK=\Phi (N)$, where $N:\Sigma \rightarrow \mathbb {S}^{2}$ is the Gauss map. This theory widely generalizes some of paramount importance such as the ones constant mean and Gauss curvature surfaces, linear Weingarten surfaces and self-translating solitons of the mean curvature flow. Under mild assumptions on the prescribed function $\Phi$, we exhibit a classification result for rotational surfaces in the case that the underlying fully nonlinear PDE that governs these surfaces is elliptic or hyperbolic.

In this paper, we establish an infinite series expansion of Leray–Trudinger inequality, which is closely related with Hardy inequality and Moser Trudinger inequality. Our result extends early results obtained by Mallick and Tintarev [A. Mallick and C. Tintarev. An improved Leray-Trudinger inequality. Commun. Contemp. Math. 20 (2018), 17501034. OP 21] to the case with many logs. It should be pointed out that our result is about series expansion of Hardy inequality under the case $p=n$, which case is not considered by Gkikas and Psaradakis in [K. T. Gkikas and G. Psaradakis. Optimal non-homogeneous improvements for the series expansion of Hardy's inequality. Commun. Contemp. Math. doi:10.1142/S0219199721500310]. However, we can't obtain the optimal form by our method.

Topological complexity naturally appears in the motion planning in robotics. In this paper we consider the problem of finding topological complexity of real Grassmann manifolds $G_k(\mathbb {R}^{n})$. We use cohomology methods to give estimates on the zero-divisor cup-length of $G_k(\mathbb {R}^{n})$ for various $2\leqslant k< n$, which in turn give us lower bounds on topological complexity. Our results correct and improve several results from Pavešić (Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinb. A 151 (2021), 2013–2029).

We introduce a pointwise variant of the Assouad dimension for measures on metric spaces, and study its properties in relation to the global Assouad dimension. We show that, in general, the value of the pointwise Assouad dimension may differ from the global counterpart, but in many classical cases, the pointwise Assouad dimension exhibits similar exact dimensionality properties as the classical local dimension, namely it equals the global Assouad dimension almost everywhere. We also prove an explicit formula for the Assouad dimension of certain invariant measures with place-dependent probabilities supported on self-conformal sets.

We prove the existence of all extremal functions for (0.1). We show that if $f$ and $g$ are extremal functions for (0.1) then both of $f$ and $g$ are radially decreasing. Moreover, we apply the regularity lifting method to obtain the smoothness of extremal functions. Finally, we derive the sufficient and necessary condition of the existence of any nonnegative nontrivial solutions for the Euler–Lagrange equations by using Pohozaev identity.

This corrigendum corrects a result in [1].

We consider inverse nodal problems for the Sturm–Liouville operators on the tree graphs. Can only dense nodes distinguish the tree graphs? In this paper it is shown that the data of dense-nodes uniquely determines the potential (up to a constant) on the tree graphs. This provides interesting results for an open question implied in the paper.

We construct examples of compact homogeneous Riemannian manifolds admitting an invariant Bismut connection that is Ricci flat and non-flat, proving in this way that the generalized Alekseevsky–Kimelfeld theorem does not hold. The classification of compact homogeneous Bismut Ricci flat spaces in dimension $5$ is also provided. Moreover, we investigate compact homogeneous spaces with non-trivial third Betti number, and we point out other possible ways to construct Bismut Ricci flat manifolds. Finally, since Bismut Ricci flat connections correspond to fixed points of the generalized Ricci flow, we discuss the stability of some of our examples under the flow.

Any Lipschitz map $f : M \to N$ between two pointed metric spaces may be extended in a unique way to a bounded linear operator $\widehat {f} : \mathcal {F}(M) \to \mathcal {F}(N)$ between their corresponding Lipschitz-free spaces. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for $\widehat {f}$ to be compact in terms of metric conditions on $f$. This extends a result by A. Jiménez-Vargas and M. Villegas-Vallecillos in the case of non-separable and unbounded metric spaces. After studying the behaviour of weakly convergent sequences made of finitely supported elements in Lipschitz-free spaces, we also deduce that $\widehat {f}$ is compact if and only if it is weakly compact.

We construct new optimal $L^{p}$ Hardy-type inequalities for elliptic Schrödinger-type operators with a potential term.

We study the existence of reducing subspaces for rank-one perturbations of diagonal operators and, in general, of normal operators of uniform multiplicity one. As we will show, the spectral picture will play a significant role in order to prove the existence of reducing subspaces for rank-one perturbations of diagonal operators whenever they are not normal. In this regard, the most extreme case is provided when the spectrum of the rank-one perturbation of a diagonal operator $T=D + u\otimes v$ (uniquely determined by such expression) is contained in a line, since in such a case $T$ has a reducing subspace if and only if $T$ is normal. Nevertheless, we will show that it is possible to exhibit non-normal operators $T=D + u\otimes v$ with spectrum contained in a circle either having or lacking non-trivial reducing subspaces. Moreover, as far as the spectrum of $T$ is contained in any compact subset of the complex plane, we provide a characterization of the reducing subspaces $M$ of $T$ such that the restriction $T\mid _M$ is normal. In particular, such characterization allows us to exhibit rank-one perturbations of completely normal diagonal operators (in the sense of Wermer) lacking reducing subspaces. Furthermore, it determines completely the decomposition of the underlying Hilbert space in an orthogonal sum of reducing subspaces in the context of a classical theorem due to Behncke on essentially normal operators.

In this paper, we study the quadratic perturbations of a one-parameter family of reversible quadratic systems whose first integral contains the logarithmic function. By the criterion function for determining the lowest upper bound of the number of zeros of Abelian integrals, we obtain that the cyclicity of either period annulus is two. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first result for the cyclicity of period annulus of the one-parameter family of reversible quadratic systems whose first integral contains the logarithmic function. Moreover, the simultaneous bifurcation and distribution of limit cycles from two-period annuli are considered.

We show that complete intersection log del Pezzo surfaces with amplitude one in weighted projective spaces are uniformly $K$-stable. As a result, they admit an orbifold Kähler–Einstein metric.

In this paper, we investigate the $H^{p}(G) \rightarrow L^{p}(G)$, $0< p \leq 1$, boundedness of multiplier operators defined via group Fourier transform on a graded Lie group $G$, where $H^{p}(G)$ is the Hardy space on $G$. Our main result extends those obtained in [Colloq. Math. 165 (2021), 1–30], where the $L^{1}(G)\rightarrow L^{1,\infty }(G)$ and $L^{p}(G) \rightarrow L^{p}(G)$, $1< p <\infty$, boundedness of such Fourier multiplier operators were proved.
