We prove the integral Hodge conjecture for all 3-folds $X$ of Kodaira dimension zero with $H^{0}(X,K_{X})$ not zero. This generalizes earlier results of Voisin and Grabowski. The assumption is sharp, in view of counterexamples by Benoist and Ottem. We also prove similar results on the integral Tate conjecture. For example, the integral Tate conjecture holds for abelian 3-folds in any characteristic.

We show that certain right-angled Coxeter groups have finite index subgroups that quotient to $\mathbb{Z}$ with finitely generated kernels. The proof uses Bestvina–Brady Morse theory facilitated by combinatorial arguments. We describe a variety of examples where the plan succeeds or fails. Among the successful examples are the right-angled reflection groups in $\mathbb{H}^{4}$ with fundamental domain the 120-cell or the 24-cell.

We prove that if $M$ is a $\text{JBW}^{\ast }$-triple and not a Cartan factor of rank two, then $M$ satisfies the Mazur–Ulam property, that is, every surjective isometry from the unit sphere of $M$ onto the unit sphere of another real Banach space $Y$ extends to a surjective real linear isometry from $M$ onto $Y$.

We establish the first global results for groups definable in tame expansions of o-minimal structures. Let ${\mathcal{N}}$ be an expansion of an o-minimal structure ${\mathcal{M}}$ that admits a good dimension theory. The setting includes dense pairs of o-minimal structures, expansions of ${\mathcal{M}}$ by a Mann group, or by a subgroup of an elliptic curve, or a dense independent set. We prove: (1) a Weil’s group chunk theorem that guarantees a definable group with an o-minimal group chunk is o-minimal, (2) a full characterization of those definable groups that are o-minimal as those groups that have maximal dimension; namely, their dimension equals the dimension of their topological closure, (3) as an application, if ${\mathcal{N}}$ expands ${\mathcal{M}}$ by a dense independent set, then every definable group is o-minimal.

We construct a separately continuous function $e:E\times K\rightarrow \{0,1\}$ on the product of a Baire space $E$ and a compact space $K$ such that no restriction of $e$ to any non-meagre Borel set in $E\times K$ is continuous. The function $e$ has no points of joint continuity, and, hence, it provides a negative solution of Talagrand’s problem in Talagrand [Espaces de Baire et espaces de Namioka, Math. Ann.270 (1985), 159–164].

We give simple homological conditions for a rational homology 3-sphere $Y$ to have infinite order in the rational homology cobordism group $\unicode[STIX]{x1D6E9}_{\mathbb{Q}}^{3}$, and for a collection of rational homology spheres to be linearly independent. These translate immediately to statements about knot concordance when $Y$ is the branched double cover of a knot, recovering some results of Livingston and Naik. The statements depend only on the homology groups of the 3-manifolds, but are proven through an analysis of correction terms and their behavior under connected sums.

Given a perfect valuation ring $R$ of characteristic $p$ that is complete with respect to a rank-1 nondiscrete valuation, we show that the ring $\mathbb{A}_{\inf }$ of Witt vectors of $R$ has infinite Krull dimension.

Let ${\mathcal{X}}$ be a regular variety, flat and proper over a complete regular curve over a finite field such that the generic fiber $X$ is smooth and geometrically connected. We prove that the Brauer group of ${\mathcal{X}}$ is finite if and only Tate’s conjecture for divisors on $X$ holds and the Tate–Shafarevich group of the Albanese variety of $X$ is finite, generalizing a theorem of Artin and Grothendieck for surfaces to arbitrary relative dimension. We also give a formula relating the orders of the group under the assumption that they are finite, generalizing the known formula for a surface.

We show that the stable and unstable sets of non-uniformly hyperbolic horseshoes arising in some heteroclinic bifurcations of surface diffeomorphisms have the value conjectured in a previous work by the second and third authors of the present paper. Our results apply to first heteroclinic bifurcations associated with horseshoes with Hausdorff dimension ${<}22/21$ of conservative surface diffeomorphisms.

We prove that the class of reflexive asymptotic-$c_{0}$ Banach spaces is coarsely rigid, meaning that if a Banach space $X$ coarsely embeds into a reflexive asymptotic-$c_{0}$ space $Y$, then $X$ is also reflexive and asymptotic-$c_{0}$. In order to achieve this result, we provide a purely metric characterization of this class of Banach spaces. This metric characterization takes the form of a concentration inequality for Lipschitz maps on the Hamming graphs, which is rigid under coarse embeddings. Using an example of a quasi-reflexive asymptotic-$c_{0}$ space, we show that this concentration inequality is not equivalent to the non-equi-coarse embeddability of the Hamming graphs.

Let $M$ and $N$ be two compact complex manifolds. We show that if the tautological line bundle ${\mathcal{O}}_{T_{M}^{\ast }}(1)$ is not pseudo-effective and ${\mathcal{O}}_{T_{N}^{\ast }}(1)$ is nef, then there is no non-constant holomorphic map from $M$ to $N$. In particular, we prove that any holomorphic map from a compact complex manifold $M$ with RC-positive tangent bundle to a compact complex manifold $N$ with nef cotangent bundle must be a constant map. As an application, we obtain that there is no non-constant holomorphic map from a compact Hermitian manifold with positive holomorphic sectional curvature to a Hermitian manifold with non-positive holomorphic bisectional curvature.

Over the moduli space of smooth curves, the double ramification cycle can be defined by pulling back the unit section of the universal jacobian along the Abel–Jacobi map. This breaks down over the boundary since the Abel–Jacobi map fails to extend. We construct a ‘universal’ resolution of the Abel–Jacobi map, and thereby extend the double ramification cycle to the whole of the moduli of stable curves. In the non-twisted case, we show that our extension coincides with the cycle constructed by Li, Graber, Vakil via a virtual fundamental class on a space of rubber maps.
