Let $p$ be a rational prime, let $F$ denote a finite, unramified extension of ${{\mathbb {Q}}}_p$, let $K$ be the maximal unramified extension of ${{\mathbb {Q}}}_p$, ${{\overline {K}}}$ some fixed algebraic closure of $K$, and ${{\mathbb {C}}}_p$ be the completion of ${{\overline {K}}}$. Let $G_F$ be the absolute Galois group of $F$. Let $A$ be an abelian variety defined over $F$, with good reduction. Classically, the Fontaine integral was seen as a Hodge–Tate comparison morphism, i.e. as a map $\varphi _{A} \otimes 1_{{{\mathbb {C}}}_p}\colon T_p(A)\otimes _{{{\mathbb {Z}}}_p}{{\mathbb {C}}}_p\to \operatorname {Lie}(A)(F)\otimes _F{{\mathbb {C}}}_p(1)$, and as such it is surjective and has a large kernel. This paper starts with the observation that if we do not tensor $T_p(A)$ with ${{\mathbb {C}}}_p$, then the Fontaine integral is often injective. In particular, it is proved that if $T_p(A)^{G_K} = 0$, then $\varphi _A$ is injective. As an application, we extend the Fontaine integral to a perfectoid like universal cover of $A$ and show that if $T_p(A)^{G_K} = 0$, then $A(\overline {K})$ has a type of $p$-adic uniformization, which resembles the classical complex uniformization.

Convolution structures are group-like objects that were extensively studied by harmonic analysts. We use them to define H0 and H1 for Arakelov divisors over number fields. We prove the analogs of the Riemann–Roch and Serre duality theorems. This brings more structure to the works of Tate and van der Geer and Schoof. The H1 is defined by a procedure very similar to the usual Ĉech cohomology. Serre′s duality becomes Pontryagin duality of convolution structures. The whole theory is parallel to the geometric case.

Let $X$ be a smooth and projective variety such that $X$ is fibred over the projective space. We give sufficient conditions ensuring that the fibres contain adelic points satisfying Manin-like conditions.

We generalize the Cohen–Lenstra heuristics over function fields to étale group schemes $G$ (with the classical case of abelian groups corresponding to constant group schemes). By using the results of Ellenberg–Venkatesh–Westerland, we make progress towards the proof of these heuristics. Moreover, by keeping track of the image of the Weil-pairing as an element of $\wedge ^{2}G(1)$, we formulate more refined heuristics which nicely explain the deviation from the usual Cohen–Lenstra heuristics for abelian $\ell$-groups in cases where $\ell \mid q-1$; the nature of this failure was suggested already in the works of Malle, Garton, Ellenberg–Venkatesh–Westerland, and others. On the purely large random matrix side, we provide a natural model which has the correct moments, and we conjecture that these moments uniquely determine a limiting probability measure.

We connect two developments that aim to extend Voevodsky's theory of motives over a field in such a way as to encompass non-$\mathbf {A}^1$-invariant phenomena. One is theory of reciprocity sheaves introduced by Kahn, Saito and Yamazaki. The other is theory of the triangulated category $\operatorname {\mathbf {logDM}}^{{\operatorname {eff}}}$ of logarithmic motives launched by Binda, Park and Østvær. We prove that the Nisnevich cohomology of reciprocity sheaves is representable in $\operatorname {\mathbf {logDM}}^{{\operatorname {eff}}}$.

We show that there is no stable Siegel modular form that vanishes on every moduli space of curves.

We define $p$-adic $\mathrm {BPS}$ or $p\mathrm {BPS}$ invariants for moduli spaces $\operatorname {M}_{\beta,\chi }$ of one-dimensional sheaves on del Pezzo and K3 surfaces by means of integration over a non-archimedean local field $F$. Our definition relies on a canonical measure $\mu _{\rm can}$ on the $F$-analytic manifold associated to $\operatorname {M}_{\beta,\chi }$ and the $p\mathrm {BPS}$ invariants are integrals of natural ${\mathbb {G}}_m$ gerbes with respect to $\mu _{\rm can}$. A similar construction can be done for meromorphic and usual Higgs bundles on a curve. Our main theorem is a $\chi$-independence result for these $p\mathrm {BPS}$ invariants. For one-dimensional sheaves on del Pezzo surfaces and meromorphic Higgs bundles, we obtain as a corollary the agreement of $p\mathrm {BPS}$ with usual $\mathrm {BPS}$ invariants through a result of Maulik and Shen [Cohomological $\chi$-independence for moduli of one-dimensional sheaves and moduli of Higgs bundles, Geom. Topol. 27 (2023), 1539–1586].

When $p$ is inert in the quadratic imaginary field $E$ and $m<n$, unitary Shimura varieties of signature $(n,m)$ and a hyperspecial level subgroup at $p$, carry a natural foliationof height 1 and rank $m^{2}$ in the tangent bundle of their special fiber $S$. We study this foliation and show that it acquires singularities at deep Ekedahl–Oort strata, but that these singularities are resolved if we pass to a natural smooth moduli problem $S^{\sharp }$, a successive blow-up of $S$. Over the ($\unicode[STIX]{x1D707}$-)ordinary locus we relate the foliation to Moonen’s generalized Serre–Tate coordinates. We study the quotient of $S^{\sharp }$ by the foliation, and identify it as the Zariski closure of the ordinary-étale locus in the special fiber $S_{0}(p)$ of a certain Shimura variety with parahoric level structure at $p$. As a result, we get that this ‘horizontal component’ of $S_{0}(p)$, as well as its multiplicative counterpart, are non-singular (formerly they were only known to be normal and Cohen–Macaulay). We study two kinds of integral manifolds of the foliation: unitary Shimura subvarieties of signature $(m,m)$, and a certain Ekedahl–Oort stratum that we denote $S_{\text{fol}}$. We conjecture that these are the only integral submanifolds.

An affine symplectic singularity $X$ with a good $\mathbf{C}^{\ast }$-action is called a conical symplectic variety. In this paper we prove the following theorem. For fixed positive integers $N$ and $d$, there are only a finite number of conical symplectic varieties of dimension $2d$ with maximal weights $N$, up to an isomorphism. To prove the main theorem, we first relate a conical symplectic variety with a log Fano Kawamata log terminal (klt) pair, which has a contact structure. By the boundedness result for log Fano klt pairs with fixed Cartier index, we prove that conical symplectic varieties of a fixed dimension and with a fixed maximal weight form a bounded family. Next we prove the rigidity of conical symplectic varieties by using Poisson deformations.

We prove the p-parity conjecture for elliptic curves over global fields of characteristic p>3. We also present partial results on the ℓ-parity conjecture for primes ℓ≠p.

Using twisted nearby cycles, we define a new notion of slopes for complex holonomic ${\mathcal{D}}$ -modules. We prove a boundedness result for these slopes, study their functoriality and use them to characterize regularity. For a family of (possibly irregular) algebraic connections ${\mathcal{E}}_{t}$ parametrized by a smooth curve, we deduce under natural conditions an explicit bound for the usual slopes of the differential equation satisfied by the family of irregular periods of the ${\mathcal{E}}_{t}$ . This generalizes the regularity of the Gauss–Manin connection proved by Griffiths, Katz and Deligne.

The Nagata automorphism is a kind of complicated automorphism on the affine 3-space . For a long time, it remained unknown whether or not the Nagata automorphism is tame until Shestakov and Umirbaev at last proved that it is not tame in 2004, by purely algebraic methods (e.g. Poisson algebra). In this paper, we consider a certain necessary condition for a given automorphism on to be tame from the point of view of the Sarkisov program established by Corti. Furthermore, by using it, we shall give a new algebro-geometric proof of the non-tameness of the Nagata automorphism.

Given a number field K, we consider families of critically separable rational maps of degree d over K possessing a certain fixed-point and multiplier structure. With suitable notions of isomorphism and good reduction between rational maps in these families, we prove a finiteness theorem which is analogous to Shafarevich’s theorem for elliptic curves. We also define the minimal critical discriminant, a global object which can be viewed as a measure of arithmetic complexity of a rational map. We formulate a conjectural bound on the minimal critical discriminant, which is analogous to Szpiro’s conjecture for elliptic curves, and we prove that a special case of our conjecture implies Szpiro’s conjecture in the semistable case.

We formulate and study Howe–Moore type properties in the setting of quantum groups and in the setting of rigid $C^{\ast }$-tensor categories. We say that a rigid $C^{\ast }$-tensor category ${\mathcal{C}}$ has the Howe–Moore property if every completely positive multiplier on ${\mathcal{C}}$ has a limit at infinity. We prove that the representation categories of $q$-deformations of connected compact simple Lie groups with trivial center satisfy the Howe–Moore property. As an immediate consequence, we deduce the Howe–Moore property for Temperley–Lieb–Jones standard invariants with principal graph $A_{\infty }$. These results form a special case of a more general result on the convergence of completely bounded multipliers on the aforementioned categories. This more general result also holds for the representation categories of the free orthogonal quantum groups and for the Kazhdan–Wenzl categories. Additionally, in the specific case of the quantum groups $\text{SU}_{q}(N)$, we are able, using a result of the first-named author, to give an explicit characterization of the central states on the quantum coordinate algebra of $\text{SU}_{q}(N)$, which coincide with the completely positive multipliers on the representation category of $\text{SU}_{q}(N)$.

In the paper we find a further generalization of congruences of the K. Hardy and K. S. Williams [5] type which seems to be a full generalization of congruences of G. Gras [4]. Moreover we extend results of [5], [7], [8], [9] and in part of [6]. We apply ideas and methods of [.

We give conditions which imply that a complete noncompact manifold with quadratic curvature decay has finite topological type. In particular, we find links between the topology of a manifold with quadratic curvature decay and some properties of the asymptotic cones of such a manifold.

We investigate families of minimal rational curves on Schubert varieties, their Bott–Samelson desingularizations, and their generalizations constructed by Nicolas Perrin in the minuscule case. In particular, we describe the minimal families on small resolutions of minuscule Schubert varieties.

Let F be a p-adic field. Consider a dual pair where SO(2n+1)+ is the split orthogonal group and is the metaplectic cover of the symplectic group Sp(2n) over F. We study lifting of characters between orthogonal and metaplectic groups. We say that a representation of SO(2n+1)+ lifts to a representation of if their characters on corresponding conjugacy classes are equal up to a transfer factor. We study properties of this transfer factor, which is essentially the character of the difference of the two halves of the oscillator representation. We show that the lifting commutes with parabolic induction. These results were motivated by the paper ‘Lifting of characters on orthogonal and metaplectic groups’ by Adams who considered the case F=ℝ.

We construct actions of the spheromorphism group of Neretin (containing Thompson's group V) on towers of moduli spaces of genus zero real stable curves. The latter consist of inductive limits of spaces which are the real parts of the Grothendieck–Knudsen compactification of the moduli spaces of punctured Riemann spheres. By a result of M. Davis, T. Januszkiewicz and R. Scott, these spaces are aspherical cubical complexes whose fundamental groups, the ‘pure quasi-braid groups’, can be viewed as analogues of the Artin pure braid groups. By lifting the actions of the Thompson and Neretin groups to the universal covers of the towers, we obtain extensions of both groups by an infinite pure quasi-braid group, and construct an ‘Euler class’ for the Neretin group. We justify this terminology by constructing a corresponding cocycle.

Starting from a sheaf of associative algebras over a scheme we show that its deformation theory is described by cohomologies of a canonical object, called the cotangent complex, in the derived category of sheaves of bi-modules over this sheaf of algebras. The passage from deformations to cohomology is based on considering a site which is naturally constructed out of our sheaf of algebras. It turns out that on the one hand, cohomology of certain sheaves on this site control deformations, and on the other hand, they can be rewritten in terms of the category of sheaves of bi-modules.
