From any two median spaces $X$ and $Y$, we construct a new median space $X \circledast Y$, referred to as the diadem product of $X$ and $Y$, and we show that this construction is compatible with wreath products in the following sense: given two finitely generated groups $G,\,H$ and two (equivariant) coarse embeddings into median spaces $X,\,Y$, there exist a(n equivariant) coarse embedding $G\wr H \to X \circledast Y$. The construction offers a unified point of view on various questions related to the Hilbertian geometry of wreath products of groups.

We consider two inclusions of $C^{*}$-algebras whose small $C^{*}$-algebras have approximate units of the large $C^{*}$-algebras and their two spaces of all bounded bimodule linear maps. We suppose that the two inclusions of $C^{*}$-algebras are strongly Morita equivalent. In this paper, we shall show that there exists an isometric isomorphism from one of the spaces of all bounded bimodule linear maps to the other space and we shall study the basic properties about the isometric isomorphism. And, using this isometric isomorphism, we define the Picard group for a bimodule linear map and discuss the Picard group for a bimodule linear map.

In this paper, we construct uncountably many examples of multiparameter CCR flows, which are not pullbacks of $1$-parameter CCR flows, with any given index. Moreover, the constructed CCR flows are type I in the sense that the associated product system is the smallest subsystem containing its units.

A group is $\frac 32$-generated if every non-trivial element is part of a generating pair. In 2019, Donoven and Harper showed that many Thompson groups are $\frac 32$-generated and posed five questions. The first of these is whether there exists a 2-generated group with every proper quotient cyclic that is not $\frac 32$-generated. This is a natural question given the significant work in proving that no finite group has this property, but we show that there is such an infinite group. The groups we consider are a family of finite index subgroups $G_1,\, G_2,\, \ldots$ of the Houghton group $\operatorname {FSym}(\mathbb {Z})\rtimes \mathbb {Z}$. We then show that $G_1$ and $G_2$ are $\frac 32$-generated and investigate the related notion of spread for these groups. We are able to show that they have finite spread at least 2. These are, therefore, the first infinite groups to be shown to have finite positive spread, and the first to be shown to have spread at least 2 (other than $\mathbb {Z}$ and the Tarski monsters, which have infinite spread). As a consequence, for each $k\in \{2,\, 3,\, \ldots \}$, we also have that $G_{2k}$ is index $k$ in $G_2$ but $G_2$ is $\frac 32$-generated whereas $G_{2k}$ is not.

In this paper, by the introduction of several parameters, we construct a new kernel function which is defined in the whole plane and includes some classical kernel functions. Estimating the weight functions with the techniques of real analysis, we establish a new Hilbert-type inequality in the whole plane, and the constant factor of the newly obtained inequality is proved to be the best possible. Additionally, by means of the partial fraction expansion of the tangent function, some special and interesting inequalities are presented at the end of the paper.

Let $K={\mathbf {Q}}(\theta )$ be an algebraic number field with $\theta$ a root of an irreducible polynomial $x^5+ax+b\in {\mathbf {Z}}[x]$. In this paper, for every rational prime $p$, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions on $a,\,~b$ so that $p$ is a common index divisor of $K$. In particular, we give sufficient conditions on $a,\,~b$ for which $K$ is non-monogenic. We illustrate our results through examples.

Every discrete definable subset of a closed asymptotic couple with ordered scalar field ${\boldsymbol {k}}$ is shown to be contained in a finite-dimensional ${\boldsymbol {k}}$-linear subspace of that couple. It follows that the differential-valued field $\mathbb {T}$ of transseries induces more structure on its value group than what is definable in its asymptotic couple equipped with its scalar multiplication by real numbers, where this asymptotic couple is construed as a two-sorted structure with $\mathbb {R}$ as the underlying set for the second sort.

We apply a method inspired by Popa's intertwining-by-bimodules technique to investigate inner conjugacy of MASAs in graph $C^*$-algebras. First, we give a new proof of non-inner conjugacy of the diagonal MASA ${\mathcal {D}}_E$ to its non-trivial image under a quasi-free automorphism, where $E$ is a finite transitive graph. Changing graphs representing the algebras, this result applies to some non quasi-free automorphisms as well. Then, we exhibit a large class of MASAs in the Cuntz algebra ${\mathcal {O}}_n$ that are not inner conjugate to the diagonal ${\mathcal {D}}_n$.

We establish some existence results for a class of critical $N$-Laplacian problems in a bounded domain in $\mathbb {R}^{N}$. In the absence of a suitable direct sum decomposition of the underlying Sobolev space to which the classical linking theorem can be applied, we use an abstract linking theorem based on the $\mathbb {Z}_2$-cohomological index to obtain a non-trivial critical point.

The $q$-coloured Delannoy numbers $D_{n,k}(q)$ count the number of lattice paths from $(0,\,0)$ to $(n,\,k)$ using steps $(0,\,1)$, $(1,\,0)$ and $(1,\,1)$, among which the $(1,\,1)$ steps are coloured with $q$ colours. The focus of this paper is to study some analytical properties of the polynomial matrix $D(q)=[d_{n,k}(q)]_{n,k\geq 0}=[D_{n-k,k}(q)]_{n,k\geq 0}$, such as the strong $q$-log-concavity of polynomial sequences located in a ray or a transversal line of $D(q)$ and the $q$-total positivity of $D(q)$. We show that the zeros of all row sums $R_n(q)=\sum \nolimits _{k=0}^{n}d_{n,k}(q)$ are in $(-\infty,\, -1)$ and are dense in the corresponding semi-closed interval. We also prove that the zeros of all antidiagonal sums $A_n(q)=\sum \nolimits _{k=0}^{\lfloor n/2 \rfloor }d_{n-k,k}(q)$ are in the interval $(-\infty,\, -1]$ and are dense there.

Finding a common point in a finite intersection of sets, say, $C=\cap _{i=1}^{n} F(T_i)$, where each $T_i$ is a non-expansive-type mapping, is a central task in mathematics as it cuts across different areas of application, such as road design and medical image reconstruction. There are many algorithms for approximating solutions of such problems. Of particular interest in the implementation of these algorithms are cost and speed. This is due to the large computations to be performed at each step of the iterative process. One of the most efficient methods that optimizes the time of computation and cost of implementation is the asynchronous-parallel algorithm method. In this paper, we prove a weak convergence theorem for the asynchronous sequential inertial (ASI) algorithm (introduced by Heaton and Censor in [H. Heaton and Y. Censor, Asynchronous sequential inertial iterations for common fixed points problems with an application to linear systems, J. Glob. Optim. 74 (2019), 95–119.] ) for strictly pseudo-contractive mappings in Hilbert spaces. Under additional mild conditions, we also obtain a strong convergence theorem. Finally, we apply the ASI algorithm to solving convex minimization problems and Hammerstein integral equations.

In this paper, we consider the $T$- and $V$-versions, ${T_\tau }$ and ${V_\tau }$, of the irrational slope Thompson group ${F_\tau }$ considered in J. Burillo, B. Nucinkis and L. Reeves [An irrational-slope Thompson's group, Publ. Mat. 65 (2021), 809–839]. We give infinite presentations for these groups and show how they can be represented by tree-pair diagrams similar to those for $T$ and $V$. We also show that ${T_\tau }$ and ${V_\tau }$ have index-$2$ normal subgroups, unlike their original Thompson counterparts $T$ and $V$. These index-$2$ subgroups are shown to be simple.

We complete the classification of the pointed Hopf algebras with finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension that are liftings of the Jordan plane over a nilpotent-by-finite group, correcting the statement in [N. Andruskiewitsch, I. Angiono and I. Heckenberger, Liftings of Jordan and super Jordan planes, Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 61(3) (2018), 661–672.].

Let $R$ be a left coherent ring. It is proven that if an $R$-module $M$ has a finite FP-injective dimension, then the Gorenstein projective (resp. Gorenstein flat) dimension and the projective (resp. flat) dimension coincide. Also, we obtain that the pair ($\mathcal {GP},\, \mathcal {GP}^{\perp }$) forms a projective cotorsion pair under some mild conditions.

For a given inverse semigroup action on a topological space, one can associate an étale groupoid. We prove that there exists a correspondence between the certain subsemigroups and the open wide subgroupoids in case that the action is strongly tight. Combining with the recent result of Brown et al., we obtain a correspondence between the certain subsemigroups of an inverse semigroup and the Cartan intermediate subalgebras of a groupoid C*-algebra.
