Parasitology is an important specialist journal covering the latest advances in the subject. Image credit: The detailed view of Ancylostoma caninum, revealing its oral cavity and teeth, emphasises the organism’s adaptation to a parasitic lifestyle. Ancylostoma caninum poses significant health challenges for both veterinary and public health. This microscopic glimpse not only enhances our understanding of parasitic morphology, but also emphasises the urgent need for continued research. By deepening our knowledge of such parasites, we can better devise strategies to combat their spread, protecting both animal and human populations from their far-reaching impacts. © Andrea Langeland
