The Society for American Archaeology (SAA) is pleased to announce that Drs. Cecilia Sanhueza and Geoffrey McCafferty have been appointed co-editors of the journal Latin American Antiquity (LAQ).
Latin American Antiquity is a quarterly journal that publishes original articles on the archaeology, ethnohistory, and art history of Latin America and the Caribbean and all regions in the continental New World that are south of the current US-Mexico border. She is also currently an editorial assistant for LAQ; Dr. McCafferty holds a PhD in Anthropology from the State University of New York, Binghamton, following extensive graduate studies at the Universidad de las Americas in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico. He is currently an emeritus professor at the University of Calgary, as well as a research associate at the University of Kentucky.
Drs. Sanhueza and McCafferty plan to build on LAQ’s reputation as a thriving, inclusive journal publishing high-quality research and to expand its visibility and impact throughout the Americas and the globe. Their terms begin April 1, 2023.
Latin American Antiquity is published four times a year by the SAA’s publishing partner, Cambridge University Press.
