Introduzione

Qualsiasi studioso di politica comparata deve prendere tre decisioni: formulare i concetti che ritiene operazionalizzabili; scegliere il metodo specifico di analisi; determinare, infine, il campo che deve essere abbracciato dalla comparazione. Ovviamente ciascuna di tali scelte influenza l'altra. Non si possono comparare, ad esempio, paesi relativamente simili ovvero paesi molto diversi adottando lo stesso livello di astrazione oppure usando lo stesso tipo di dati statistici.
