Let ${\mathcal {E}}$ be a complex elliptic curve and S be a non-empty finite subset of ${\mathcal {E}}$. We show that the functions $\tilde {\Gamma }$ introduced in [BDDT] out of string theory motivations give rise to a basis (as a vector space) of the minimal algebra $A_{{\mathcal {E}}{\smallsetminus } S}$ of holomorphic multivalued functions on ${\mathcal {E}}{\smallsetminus } S$ which is stable under integration, introduced in [EZ]; this basis is alternative to the basis of $A_{{\mathcal {E}}{\smallsetminus } S}$ constructed in loc. cit. using elliptic analogs of the hyperlogarithm functions.

The central theme of this paper is the holomorphic spectral theory of the canonical Laplace operator of the complement of the “complexified unit circle” $\{(z,w) \in \widehat {{\mathbb C}}^2 \colon z \cdot w = 1\}$. We start by singling out a distinguished set of holomorphic eigenfunctions on the bidisk in terms of hypergeometric ${}_2F_1$ functions and prove that they provide a spectral decomposition of every holomorphic eigenfunction on the bidisk. As a second step, we identify the maximal domains of definition of these eigenfunctions and show that these maximal domains naturally determine the fine structure of the eigenspaces. Our main result gives an intrinsic classification of all closed Möbius invariant subspaces of eigenspaces of the canonical Laplacian of $\Omega $. Generalizing foundational prior work of Helgason and Rudin, this provides a unifying complex analytic framework for the real-analytic eigenvalue theories of both the hyperbolic and spherical Laplace operators on the open unit disk resp. the Riemann sphere and, in particular, shows how they are interrelated with one another.

Let $H^\infty $ be the algebra of bounded holomorphic functions on the open unit disk, and let $\mathfrak M$ be its maximal ideal space. Let $\mathfrak M_a$ be the union of nontrivial Gleason parts (analytic disks) of $\mathfrak M$. In this paper, we study the problem of extensions of bounded Banach-valued holomorphic functions and holomorphic maps with values in Oka manifolds from Gleason parts of $\mathfrak M_a\setminus \mathbb {D}$. The resulting extensions satisfy the uniform boundedness principle in the sense that their norms are bounded by constants that do not depend on the choice of the Gleason part. The results extend fundamental results of D. Suárez on the characterization of the algebra of restrictions of Gelfand transforms of functions in $H^\infty $ to Gleason parts of $ \mathfrak M_a\setminus \mathbb {D}$. The proofs utilize our recent advances on $\bar \partial $-equations on quasi-interpolating sets and Runge-type approximations.

In this paper, we give a complete description of closed ideals of the Banach algebra $\mathcal {B}^{s}_{p}\cap \lambda _{\alpha }$ , where $\mathcal {B}^{s}_{p}$ denotes the analytic Besov space and $\lambda _{\alpha }$ is the separable analytic Lipschitz space. Our result extends several previous results in Bahajji-El Idrissi and El-Fallah (2020, Studia Mathematica 255, 209–217), Bouya (2009, Canadian Journal of Mathematics 61, 282–298), and Shirokov (1982, Izv. Ross. Akad. Nauk Ser. Mat. 46, 1316–1332).

Spaces of power series solutions $y(\mathrm {t})$ in one variable $\mathrm {t}$ of systems of polynomial, algebraic, analytic or formal equations $f(\mathrm {t},\mathrm {y})=0$ can be viewed as ‘infinite-dimensional’ varieties over the ground field $\mathbf {k}$ as well as ‘finite-dimensional’ schemes over the power series ring $\mathbf {k}[[\mathrm {t}]]$ . We propose to call these solution spaces arquile varieties, as an enhancement of the concept of arc spaces. It will be proven that arquile varieties admit a natural stratification ${\mathcal Y}=\bigsqcup {\mathcal Y}_d$ , $d\in {\mathbb N}$ , such that each stratum ${\mathcal Y}_d$ is isomorphic to a Cartesian product ${\mathcal Z}_d\times \mathbb A^{\infty }_{\mathbf {k}}$ of a finite-dimensional, possibly singular variety ${\mathcal Z}_d$ over $\mathbf {k}$ with an affine space $\mathbb A^{\infty }_{\mathbf {k}}$ of infinite dimension. This shows that the singularities of the solution space of $f(\mathrm {t},\mathrm {y})=0$ are confined, up to the stratification, to the finite-dimensional part.

Our results are established simultaneously for algebraic, convergent and formal power series, as well as convergent power series with prescribed radius of convergence. The key technical tool is a linearisation theorem, already used implicitly by Greenberg and Artin, showing that analytic maps between power series spaces can be essentially linearised by automorphisms of the source space.

Instead of stratifying arquile varieties, one may alternatively consider formal neighbourhoods of their regular points and reprove with similar methods the Grinberg–Kazhdan–Drinfeld factorisation theorem for arc spaces in the classical setting and in the more general setting.

We study and generalize a classical theoremof L. Bers that classifies domains up to biholomorphic equivalence in terms of the algebras of holomorphic functions on those domains. Then we develop applications of these results to the study of domains with noncompact automorphism group.

We recently introduced a weighted Banach algebra $\mathcal{A}_{G}^{n}$ of functions that are holomorphic on the unit disc $\mathbb{D}$, continuous up to the boundary, and of the class ${{C}^{\left( n \right)}}$ at all points where the function $G$ does not vanish. Here, $G$ refers to a function of the disc algebra without zeros on $\mathbb{D}$. Then we proved that all closed ideals in $\mathcal{A}_{G}^{n}$ with at most countable hull are standard. In this paper, on the assumption that $G$ is an outer function in ${{C}^{\left( n \right)}}\,\left( {\bar{\mathbb{D}}} \right)$ having infinite roots in $\mathcal{A}_{G}^{n}$ and countable zero set ${{h}_{o}}\left( G \right)$, we show that all the closed ideals $I$ with hull containing ${{h}_{o}}\left( G \right)$ are standard.

We consider semicrossed products of the disk algebra with respect to endomorphisms defined by finite Blaschke products. We characterize the Jacobson radical of these operator algebras. Furthermore, in the case that the finite Blaschke product is elliptic, we show that the semicrossed product contains no nonzero quasinilpotent elements. However, if the finite Blaschke product is hyperbolic or parabolic with positive hyperbolic step, the Jacobson radical is nonzero and a proper subset of the set of quasinilpotent elements.
