The Cardiff Delirium Study was carried out on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital of Wales by Martyn Stones, a Clinical Research Fellow in Psychiatry. Patients described their visual hallucination to the Hospital Artist Jan Sharp. This collaboration has resulted in a series of bizarre and often dark photomontage images. This picture is one example that Jan has produced. The pictures give a unique insight into the subjective experience of delirium in hospital patients. It is intended to make the pictures available to clinical staff, patients and the general public to improve awareness of delirium.
