2 Robert Pett had to apologise to Thomas More at the beginning of September 1612 that ‘I never wrote to yow of the duke of Medina but of the duke of Regio and Modina wher yow toke an o for an e and soe made yt Medina. yow must pardon my bad scriblinge but yet as I remember I wrot that he was an Italian duke by which yow might have conceaved that yt could not be the duke of Medina’, AAW A XI, no. 142 (p. 393).
