Aims and Scope
Political Analysis publishes peer reviewed articles that provide original and significant advances in the general area of political methodology, including both quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches. It is the official journal of the Society for Political Methodology and the Political Methodology Section of the American Political Science Association.
Types of Article
The journal accepts the following types of article:
- Research Article* (up to 6,000 words, not including references)
- Letter* (up to 2,500 words, not including references)
Word Count: Please note that we do consider longer manuscripts upon initial submission, but that all manuscripts must meet our length requirements upon revision. However, when we consider longer manuscripts, we will ask ourselves if there is a clear pathway to a revision within our guidelines, and reviewers may incorporate the length into their recommendations as well.
Desk Rejections: Please note that, to protect the time of authors and reviewers, we will issue desk rejections without external review to manuscripts that do not constitute contributions to the methods used to study politics.
* If publishing Gold Open Access, all or part of the publication costs for these article types may be covered by one of the agreements Cambridge University Press has made to support open access.
