Extract

1. The functional anatomy of the ducts associated with Mehlis's gland in the echinostome Artyfechinostomum mehrai (Faruqui) recovered from a girl has been described.

2. The mechanism and histochemistry of egg-shell formation are described and discussed.

Appreciation is extended to Dr V. S. Raghunathan, M.D., Physician and Superintendent, and Dr T. Sreenivasan, M.D., of King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam, for their kind co-operation and the gift of specimens of A. mehrai. My thanks are due to Professor P. N.
