Critical Reviews

To support readers to engage with cutting edge Social Policy debates, JSP has launched a series of critical review articles. The purpose of these were to offer a longer form article (10,000 words) that covers a comprehensive discussion in a critical manner on a specific topic that the Editors, in partnership with the Editorial Board, view as of high interest to our readers. Critical reviews are invited contributions, which discuss the status of social policy scholarship on a selected topic, identifying gaps in social policy research and suggesting a path forward for the discipline on this issue. Written by experts in the field the critical reviews explore the current state of the art, the key insights, and limitations of existing scholarship.
