Mr. Baggiano-Pico (Italy) was elected to the vice-presidency vacated by the death of Mr. Jacini. The President of the assembly (deMenthon, France) announced that an extraordinary session would be held in mid-January 1953, to consider the work of the Ad Hoc Assembly entrusted with the preparation of a draft treaty for a European political community, a decision in which the deputies of the Committee of Ministers later concurred.
