Artificial Intelligence in Psychiatry and Mental

The European Psychiatry journal is pleased to announce a special call for papers on the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in psychiatry and mental health. AI is offering unprecedented opportunities to enhance clinical decision-making, personalize interventions, and improve mental health outcomes but it is not without challenges. Therefore, we invite submissions that explore the application of AI across all areas of psychiatry and mental health, including but not limited to:

  1. AI-based diagnostic tools and predictive models.
  2. Machine learning applications in treatment personalization and response prediction.
  3. Ethical challenges and considerations in deploying AI in mental health care.
  4. AI-driven advancements in neuroimaging and computational psychiatry.
  5. The role of AI in addressing mental health disparities and improving access to care.
  6. Interdisciplinary approaches combining AI with other emerging technologies.

Submissions may include original research, reviews, or viewpoints that critically assess the potential, limitations, and future directions of AI in psychiatry. Accepted papers will feature in a dedicated collection highlighting the state-of-the-art in AI and its implications for psychiatry and mental health.

Please follow the journal’s standard author guidelines and submission process found here.
