La Escala de Evaluatión del Suicidio: un instrumento que evalúa el riesgo de suicidio de personas que han intentado quitarse la vida

Resumen

Se administró la Escala de Evaluación del Suicidio (SUAS), un instrumento construido para medir la suicidalidad en el tiempo, a 191 personas que habían intentado quitarse la vida. Se examinó su validez predictiva. Se compararon las estimaciones de la SUAS con las de otras escalas, y se relacionaron con la edad y los diagnósticos psiquiátricos, incluida la comorbilidad. Se suicidaron ocho pacientes en un plazo de 12 meses después de la administratión de la escala. Las puntuaciones altas en la SUAS eran predictores significativos del suicidio, además de la edad avanzada. A partir de un análisis de la caracteística operante del receptor (COR), identificamos puntuaciones umbral de la SUAS que, solas y en combinatión con algunos factores diagnósticos y demográficos, son valiosas aparentemente en la evaluación clínica del riesgo de suicidio después de un intento de quitarse la vida.
