Cambridge Prisms: Carbon Technologies believes in the importance of transparent and reproducible research.
We require all manuscripts to include a Data Availability Statement to describe whether the data and materials that underpin the manuscript’s findings have been made available to readers, and if so, where. Wherever possible we encourage authors to make evidence, data, code, and other materials that underpin their findings available to readers.
When sharing materials, we recommend using a dedicated repository appropriate to the materials. Repositories that provide permanent identifiers and have robust preservation policies will help to ensure the long-term integrity of published research.
We encourage authors to follow best practices in reporting their methodology. Reporting guidelines for many study designs, including quantitative and qualitative scholarship across many disciplines, can be found in the EQUATOR Network.
We also encourage authors to cite materials and data they have used in their research, alongside literature citations, to recognise the importance of all kinds of research outputs.
If you have any questions about this policy, please contact the editorial office.
Online Repositories
We strongly recommend that all datasets, code, software tools, and other research materials are submitted to an appropriate repository to ensure these materials are easily discoverable and citeable. Cambridge Open Engage is available as a repository for all Prisms authors. If you wish to use another repository more appropriate for your research materials, please ensure that it follows repository best practices, in particular that it provides a DOI and that this is correctly referenced in your paper. We do not recommend sharing research materials as supplementary material to a paper.
