The convocation sermons
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 10 January 2024
Summary
From the early fourteenth century until 1965 the convocation was opened with a religious service (usually at St Paul's cathedral) at which a special sermon was preached. Details of those known to us (with the sees of bishops and archbishops who preached indicated in brackets after their names) are given below. An asterisk (*) indicates that the sermon has been published. (All those from 1865 onwards are found, printed in full, in The Chronicle of Convocation.)
