[4v] Dicto sexto die mensis Martii, missa de Sancto Spiritu ad summum altare dictae Londoniensis ecclesiae per praefatum reverendissimum in Christo patrem dominum Cantuariensem archiepiscopum, assistentibus sibi pluribus suffraganeorum suorum suae provinciae pro feliciori expeditione inchoanda necnon solemniter celebrata, idem reverendissimus pater archiepiscopus accessit ad capellam Beatae Mariae eiusdem ecclesiae una cum venerabilibus confratribus et suffraganeis suis dominis Richardo Londoniensi, Iohanne Eliensi, Edmundo Exoniensi, Philippo Lincolniensi, Roberto Sarum, Nicholao Bathonensi et Wellensi, Alexandro Norwicensi, Thoma Wigorniensi, Henrico Menevensi, Iohanne Landavensi et Benedicto Bangorensi episcopis et ipsis inibi in scabellis paratis consedentibus ac aliis praelatis inferioribus et clero dictae provinciae confluentibus, factaque collatione per venerabilem et religiosum virum fratrem Richardum Godmersham, monachum sanctae ecclesiae Christi Cantuariensis decretorum doctorem, sumpto pro themate: ‘Diligite lumen sapientiae omnes qui praeestis' etc., exhibitum et lectum fuit certificatorium venerabilis in Christo patris et domini Domini Richardi, Dei gratia Londoniensis episcopi, continens hunc tenorem:

Reverendissimo in Christo patri et domino Domino Thomae, Dei gratia Cantuariensi archiepiscopo [totius Angliae primati et apostolicae sedis] legato, vestrisve in hac parte locum tenentibus seu commissariis quibuscunque, Richardus, permissione divina Londoniensis episcopus oboedientiam et reverentiam debitas tanto patri cum honore. Literas vestras vicesimo primo die mensis Ianuarii proximo praeterito [21 January 1413] reverenter recepimus tenorem qui sequitur continentes:

Thomas, permissione divina [Cantuariensis archiepiscopus, totius Angliae primas et apostolicae edis] legatus, venerabili fratri nostro Domino Richardo, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo, salutem et fraternae dilectionis continuum incrementum. Breve regium nuper recepimus in haec verba:

Henricus, Dei gratia rex Angliae et Franciae et dominus Hiberniae, venerabili in Christo patri Thomae, eadem gratia archiepiscopo Cantuariensi, totius Angliae primati, salutem. Quibusdam arduis et urgentibus negotiis nos et statum regni nostri ac honorem et utilitatem Ecclesiae Anglicanae intime concernentibus, vobis in fide et dilectione quibus nobis tenemini rogando mandamus quatenus praemissis debito intuitu attentis et ponderatis, universos ac singulos episcopos Cantuariensis provinciae, decanos et priores ecclesiarum cathedralium, abbates et priores et alios electivos, exemptos et non exemptos, necnon archidiaconos, capitula, conventus et collegia totumque clerum cuiuslibet diocesis vestrae provinciae ad comparendum coram vobis in ecclesia cathedrali Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, vel alibi prout melius expedire videritis, citra octabas Purificationis Beatae Mariae Virginis proximo futuras [9 February 1413] more solito convocari faciatis ad tractandum, concordandum, consentiendum et concludendum super praemissis et aliis quae sibi clarius exponentur tune ibidem ex parte nostra.
