[28r] Convocatio praelatorum et cleri Cantuariensis provinciae facta per reverendissimum in Christo patrem et dominum Dominum Iohannem, Dei gratia Cantuariensis archiepiscopum, totius Angliae primatem et apostolicae sedis legatum, in ecclesia cathedrali Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, die Lunae videlicet decimo nono die mensis Octobris, anno Domini 1444, indictione septima, pontificatus sanctissimi in Christo patris et domini Domini Eugenii, divina providentia papa quarti, anno decimo tertio, et translationis dicti reverendissimi patris anno secundo.

Eodem vero decimo nono die mensis Octobris, dictus reverendissimus pater archiepiscopus ad ecclesiam Sancti Pauli praedictae de mane se direxit et ibidem ad summum altare dictae cathedralis ecclesiae missam de Spiritu Sancto solemniter celebrabat, praesentibus in celebratione eiusdem reverendis in Christo patribus dominis Londoniensi, Eliensi, Bangorensi, Cicestrensi, Roffensi, Bathonensi, Wigorniensi et Asaphens’ episcopis; qua finita, praefatus reverendissimus pater, una cum confratribus suis episcopis supradictis, capellam Beatae Mariae in orientali parte ecclesiae cathedralis praedictae adiverunt, ubi facta collatione solemni (ut moris est) in Latinis per reverendum in Christo patrem et dominum Dominum Iohannem Roffensem episcopum, sumpto pro themate: ‘Vigilate et videte quia nescitis diem neque horam, lectum fuit incontinenti certificiatorium reverendi in Christo patris et domini Domini Roberti Londoniensis episcopi, tenorem continens subsequentem:

Reverendissimo in Christo patri et domino Domino Iohanni, Dei gratia Cantuariensis archiepiscopo, totius Angliae primati et apostolicae sedis legato, Robertus, permissione divina Londoniensis episcopus, oboedientiam reverentiamque omnimodam debitas cum honore. Mandatum vestrum reverendissimum vicesimo die mensis Augusti ultimo praeterito [20 August 1444] reverenter ut decuit recepimus, tenorem continens subsequentem:

Iohannes, permissione divina Cantuariensis archiepiscopus, totius Angliae primas et apostolicae sedis legatus, venerabili fratri nostro Domino Roberto, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo, salutem et fraternam in Domino caritatem. Literas domini nostri regis sub privato sigillo suo sigillato nuper recepimus in haec verba:

Henricus, Dei gratia rex Angliae et Franciae et Dominus Hiberniae venerabili in Christo patri Iohanni, eadem gratia archiepiscopo Cantuariensi, totius Angliae primati, salutem. Pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus negotiis nos, statum regni nostri ac honorem et utilitatem Ecclesiae Anglicanae intime concernentibus, vobis in fide et dilectione quibus nobis tenemini rogando mandamus, quatenus praemissis debito intuitu attentis et ponderatis, universos et singulos episcopos Cantuariensis provinciae, ac decanos et priores ecclesiarum cathedralium, abbates et priores, ac alios ecclesiasticos, exemptos et non exemptos, necnon archidiaconos, capitula, conventus et collegia,
