[93r] Convocatio praelatorum et cleri provinciae Cantuariensis facta die Sabbati in crastino Sancti Leonardi, videlicet septimo die mensis Novembris anno Domini MCCCCXXXIIIo, indictione duodecima, sanctissimi in Christo patris et domini Domini Eugenii, divina providentiapapae quarti, anno tertio, in ecclesia cathedrali Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, per reverendissimum in Christo patrem et dominum Dominum Henricum, permissione divina Cantuariensem archiepiscopum, totius Angliae primatem et apostolicae sedis legatum, anno translationis ipsius reverendissimi patris vicesimo.

Praefatis die et loco, dominus de manerio suae de Lambeth iter arripuit versus ecclesiam cathedralem Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, et ibidem missam de Sancto Spiritu ad summum altare eiusdem ecclesiae solemnita celebravit, assistentibus sibi in celebratione huiusmodi venerabilibus patribus Londoniensi, Eliensi, Roffensi, Lincolniensi, Norwicensi et Cicestrensi episcopis. Et post fmitam missam, statim praefati reverendissimus pater et dominus archiepiscopus confratresque sui episcopi praedicti, alii quoque praelati et clerus in multitudine copiosa transtulerunt se in capellam Beatae Mariae Virginis eiusdem ecclesiae Sancti Pauli, ibique coram omnibus venerabilis vir Magister Richardus Praty sacrae theologiae professor et ecclesiae cathedralis Sarum cancellarius solemniter proposuit Verbum Dei, sumpto pro themate: ‘Et erunt signa in sole et luna.' Qua collatione finita, statim fuit lectum certificatorium venerabilis patris Londoniensis episcopi sub tenore verborum qui sequitur:

Reverendissimo in Christo patri et domino Domino Henrico, permissione divina Cantuariensi archiepiscopo, totius Angliae primati et apostolicae sedis legato, Robertus permissione divina Londoniensis episcopus reverentias et honores tanto patri debitas. Literas vestras nuper sub ea qua decuit reverentia recepimus in haec verba:

Henricus, permissione divina Cantuariensis archiepiscopus, totius Angliae primas et apostolicae sedis legatus permissione divina Cantuariensis etc. venerabili fratri nostro Domino Roberto, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo, salutem et fraternam in Domino caritatem. Instans universalis ecclesiae magna necessitas attenta dissensionis materia quae inter sanctissimum dominum nostrum papam ex una sacrumque Basiliense concilium parte ex altera (prothdolor!) iam versatur excitatioque et instantia principum, procerum et nobilium regni Angliae nos inducunt cum praelatis et clero nostrae provinciae communem habere tractatum. Breve etiam regium ad convocandum praelatos et clerum nostrae provinciae huiusmodi recepimus in haec verba:

Henricus, Dei gratia rex Angliae et Franciae et dominus Hiberniae, venerabili in Christo patri Henrico, eadem gratia archiepiscopo Cantuariensi, totius Angliae primati, salutem.
