[lr] Convocatio praelatorum et cleri Cantuariensis provinciae, facta per reverendissimum in Christo patrem et dominum Dominum Henricum, permissione divina Cantuariensem archiepiscopum, totius Angliae primatem et apostolicae sedis legatum, in ecclesia Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, die Lunae, videlicet decimo octavo die mensis Novembris anno Domini MCCCCXVmo, et translationis eiusdem reverendissimi patris anno secundo.

Monday 18 November 1415

Praefato decimo octavo die, idem reverendissimus in Christo pater et dominus de mane accessit ad ecclesiam cathedralem Sancti Pauli praedictam, ubi celebrata per eundem reverendissimum patrem missa de Sancto Spiritu ad summum altare eiusdem ecclesiae, assistentibus eidem (ut moris est) in pontificalibus venerabilibus patribus Richardo Londoniensi, Iohanne Eliensi, Philippo Lincolniensi, Roberto Herefordensi, Iohanne Landavensi, Iohanne Lichensi et Stephano Menevensi, suffraganeis suis. Ipsa missa finita, idem reverendissimus pater cum praefatis suffraganeis suis et clero suae provinciae, accessit ad capellam Beatae Mariae in eadem ecclesia cathedrali Sancti Pauli, ubi facta solemni collatione per venerabilem virum Magistrum Willelmum Lyndwood, dicti reverendissimi patris cancellarium, sumpto pro themate: ‘State super vias, et videte', ipsaque collatione fmita, lectum est certificatorium reverendi patris Domini Richardi, Dei gratia Londoniensis episcopi, cuius tenor sequitur in haec verba:

Reverendissimo in Christo patri et domino Domino Henrico, Dei gratia Cantuariensi archiepiscopo, totius Angliae primati et apostolicae sedis legato, ipsiusve locum tenentibus seu commissariis in hac parte quibuscunque Richardus permissione divina Londoniensis episcopus, oboedientiam et reverentiam tanto patri debitas cum honore. Literas vestras vicesimo septimo die mensis Septembris ultimo praeterito [27 September 1415] recepimus tenorem qui sequitur continentes:

Henricus, permissione divina Cantuariensis archiepiscopus, totius Angliae primas et apostolicae sedis legatus, venerabili fratri nostro Domino Richardo, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo, salutem et fraternam in Domino caritatem. Magna et indissimulata nunc pro ceteris temporibus nos impellit necessitas praelatos et clerum nostrae provinciae Cantuariensis pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus negotiis statum, defensionem et utilitatem ecclesiae et regni Anglicanae concernentibus convocare.
