Introduction
David Wilkins’ Concilia Magnae Britanniae etHiberniae (4 vols., London, 1737) remains the classic source for the convocation records up to 1717, and to varying degrees modem scholars have worked on the assumption that they have been revising his work. The following pages list all the documents found in Wilkins, and give modem editions when these exist and original sources when they do not. For the period up to 1313, the list is taken from Councils and Synods /, edd. D. Whitelock, C. N. L. Brooke and M. Brett (Oxford, 1981), with appropriate additions and changes to include works published since that volume appeared.
