Summary
Orthorexia nervosa is an area of increasing interest in both research and clinical settings. Most of the knowledge about orthorexia nervosa has emerged from studies of non-clinical and at-risk populations and has focused on differential diagnosis. Internationally, most research on orthorexia nervosa has occurred in college and/or university students (e.g. Clifford & Blyth, 2019; Guglielmetti et al., 2022; King & Wengreen, 2023; Rodgers, White & Berry, 2021; Weinstock & Mazzeo, 2022). The research on orthorexia nervosa among students is diverse in terms of the field of study (e.g. dietetics, nutrition, medicine, health science, exercise science), sex and nationality.
