Summary
• Various questionnaires are used for evaluating orthorexia nervosa. The most common measures used to assess this construct are the ORTO-15, the Eating Habits Questionnaire and the Düsseldorf Orthorexia Scale (tools developed before the publication of the diagnostic criteria by Dunn and Bratman, 2016). The ORTO-15 is the most popular and, simultaneously, the most frequently criticised questionnaire. A key finding of the previous systematic review on psychometric properties of orthorexia nervosa measures was that utilising the ORTO-15 for the assessment of orthorexia nervosa ‘is discouraged’ (Opitz et al., 2020, p.10).
