Summary
The posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) branches from the V4 segment of the vertebral artery at an acute downward angle on its way to help perfuse the cerebellum (meaning “little brain” in Latin) along with the anterior inferior cerebellar artery and the superior cerebellar artery. PICA is the largest branch of the vertebral artery.
