Thus Jesus, the good ferryman
brought the galley
to the city of Marseilles.
So, for the first time the Christian company
came there by sea.
After the custom of the apostles
they went to ask for shelter
all over the country.
Because nobody recognized them,
no one would look after
these strangers.
At last they settled down
in front of the city of Marseilles
– where the lord of the land,
the king of Sicily, lived
together with his wife –
in a small derelict house
downhill from the city.
Often they suffered hunger,
scorn, slander and mockery.
Then Mary started publicly
to preach about Jesus Christ, her God,
in Marseilles.
To the unbaptized ignorant people
she taught the faith
as well as the Ten Commandments.
She forbade trusting
