Thank you very much for your letters and cables.

I am afraid you have been put to much useless bother, however, as I have never had the slightest intention of leaving Scribners.

About the British situation; I have no intention of changing publishers for the moment. You asked me to disregard your letter in that connection if this was true and so I did.
