Summary
In this short chapter I cannot hope to review all of the judgments of Lady Hale falling under the headings above and nor can I hope to review the contents of Women and the Law. Instead, I shall choose some of the most important of Lady Hale’s judgments in the sphere of equality law as I see it, with a particular focus on decisions under the Equality Act (EA) 2010 and its predecessors. These fall primarily under the chapters of Women and the Law on ‘Equality at Work’, ‘Beyond Equal Opportunity’ and ‘Sexuality’. Importantly, the subjects covered in Women and the Law, though explored through the lives of women, are material to the experience of other groups as the judgments demonstrate.
