Summary
The contract of employment is an agreement in which an employee undertakes to work for wages under the authority of an employer.
The Employment Contract Act regulates the employment contracts for bluecollar workers, white-collar workers, sales representatives, servants, students and home workers. It also applies to workers employed by the government insofar as their position is not laid down by specific legislation.
