Summary
The neoliberal public finance paradigm, which dominates fiscal regimes in the United States and around the world, has been widely criticized for its inequitable distributional impacts. Over the past few decades, the fiscal policies and processes promoted by this framework have facilitated wealth concentration and entrenched economic inequity. In the human rights community, the negative effects of neoliberal public finance are recognized as serious challenges to achieving equal access to human rights for everyone.
