Appendix
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 28 July 2017
Summary
This appendix lists the novels of all writers within the study, as well as suggests secondary sources for further study. The field of African American literary criticism is vast, so I have primarily selected sources that provide context of the authors’ philosophies and the cultural climates within which they worked, as opposed to those that provide narrower readings of particular themes or issues. This listing is by no means exhaustive. It is intended to offer an introduction to materials that flesh out the worlds of the novels.
