Summary
What motivates an individual or society to provide healthcare? At first glance, the answer is obvious: we see a ‘need’ and we – society or an individual health worker – feel compelled to respond. But what do we mean I need? A Christian ethic that might underpin the desire to meet needs includes being a neighbour and demonstrating that through compassion.
