Summary
In this chapter we will discuss the basics of psychometrics and scales commonly used in depression and dementia, specifically in assessing cognitive functions, activities of daily living (ADLs), and behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). The scales and tools discussed are only those related to older adults with a focus on those that could be used in hospital settings.
