from Part II - The New World Order and Christianity
In order for us to overcome this crisis we must elaborate a new dream and articulate a new meaning of life. In religious terminology, we would say that we need a new spirituality, a new encounter with the Being that brings with it an inner meaning to life and to history and that deciphers the Mystery of the world, the reason for evolution, and the passage of time. In short, we need a new encounter with Being as the original source of all things.
The Paradigm of Re-connection
There is a need for a new religion, a new religion in the original and etymological sense of the word. That is to say, there is a need for something to re-connect everything in the widest sense so that it can serve a thread that can sew together all experiences, all knowledge, all spiritual traditions, all politics, all humanity, and help us forge a new global reality that is united, diverse, dynamic and inclusive. In order to do this, we must dialectically put together and integrate all the various elements, and identify the complexities involved in this; once this is done, a new progressive outcome can arise within a convergent perspective. Politically it is important, for instance, to learn the lessons of the political systems of the past in a synthesis that is human and spiritual.
Capitalism created the culture of the I without the We. Socialism created the culture of the We without the I.
