Summary
The chemical composition of a multicomponent system is described in terms of a basis set of thermodynamic components, where the components may be, among many possibilities, elements, aqueous species, salts, and gas species. This chapter shows how the choice of entries in the basis set may be modified quickly and easily using transformation matrix operations.
