References 3, 5, 6, 8, and 12 are “must-have” books on gas turbine technology, which will be referenced frequently in the following chapters of this book.
As stated in the Preface, this is not a book for beginners. There is no introductory material including the derivation of key equations from first principles. The reader is expected to have at least a four-year degree in engineering under his or her belt and to be familiar with the fundamental disciplines of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics (including hydraulics, fluid dynamics, and gasdynamics). In case you got rid of your textbooks a long time ago and need a refresher, here are the author’s favorites:
