Sir:

In the midst of mye great Affliction I am desyred to wright to you, and to request of you and the Fellowes a kindnes, which I hope is everye waye fitt and Convenient to be granted. It is that you would at mye Intreatye take younge Smith into your Consideration, and make hime fellowe before the yeare of his probation be Expired, in regard of the pretention he makes to the Founders Kindred. Which busynes though I shall not take upon me to determine, yett in regard I am informed that you have done the like favour for some which have claymed under the same descent, at the request of some of mye predecessors, I doe hearbye desyer you to doe the like for me, if you knowe not iust and statutable Exception against it. Soe I take my leave and rest Your verye lovinge frend.
