Examination of Witnesses in the Case of the Hooded Sisters at Świdnica Part the First In the Name of the Lord, Amen. In the year of the Lord's Birth 1332, the fifteenth indiction, on the eve of the Nativity of the Most Glorious Virgin Mother Mary, which is the seventh day before the Ides of September [7 September], around the hour of Prime1 in Świdnica (Diocese of Wrocław) in the refectory of the house of the religious men, friars of the Order of Preachers, in the presence of me, the undersigned notary and the honourable and reverend lords Heinrich Schramm, parish priest of Mościsk, Arnold rector of the Leper Chapel outside Świdnica, the lector Peter Schwarzmann, John Lena and Conrad of Ebersbach friars minor, and Friars Crafto, Arnold Swen and Johann Modlich of the Order of Preachers, and many other religious, lay and wise persons both men and women alike, the honourable and religious man, Lord Friar John of Schwenkenfeld, lector of the friars preacher there in Swydnicz, inquisitor contra hereticam prauitatem per Wratislauiensem et Lubucensem dyoceses auctoritate apostolica deputatus multorumque aliorum uirorum religiosorum, secularium et sapientum tam uirorum quam etiam mulierum infrascriptas testes pro testimonio contra Capuciatas moniales coram se fecerat euocari uidelicet Hedwygim de Wratislauia, Adylheydim quondam inclusam, Katherinam de Lypcz, Margaretham pictricem, Cunegundim de Munsterberg, Luthardim de Lypcz, Elyzabeth de Strigonia, et Ylinam, que coram predicto inquisitore conparentes ad sanctam Dei Crucem ipsam manualiter tangendo omnes et singule de ueritate dicenda iurauerunt in hunc modum ‘Ego Hedwygis, ego Adylheydis, ego Katherina, ego Margaretha et ego Cunegundis et ego Luthardis et ego Elizabeth et ego Yliana iuramus ad sanctam Dei crucem,
