Summary
Berlin Staatsbibliothek Mus. Ms. Alfieri 1, pp.63–70
(Amann, Allegris Miserere, 108).
One of a group of Alfieri MSS acquired by the library in 1874.
63–6: ‘Miserere di Gregorio Allegri con abbellimenti’ (a)
67–70: ‘Il medesimo Miserere di Allegri con altri abbellimenti’ (b)
A conflation of the two similar versions of vv. 1 and 3 in Alfieri’s hand. Clearly based on Mus. ms. 550/2, the basis of his printed score of 1840, it gives ornaments related to P (e.g. the duo for the sopranos at the end of v. 3). It also gives many appoggiature and gruppetti similar to A (e.g. 6–7 i, ii, iv; 13 iii), as well as features of other manuscripts (e.g. the parallel fifths on the reciting notes, as P, Man and M), and a few dynamics.
