Imaging is pivotal in all aspects of the management of patients with cancer; all members of the multidisciplinary team managing the cancer patient should understand the potential applications, limitations and advantages of imaging techniques, and the radiologist should have sufficient knowledge of the pathology, clinical background, therapeutic options and prognostic indicators of different tumours to understand the significance of imaging findings. Each volume in Contemporary Issues in Cancer Imaging will be dedicated to a single tumour site and edited by recognised guest expert editors. The series will bring together expertise from radiologists, oncologists, pathologists, surgeons, basic scientists and others to not only promote the understanding and rational application of modern imaging but also help in the overall management of patients with cancer.
