On page 465 of the article “Opinions on the Lowland Maya Late Archaic Period with Some Evidence from Northern Belize,” the wrong reference was cited in the following sentence:
“Second, the odd 4.0–1.0 ka B.P. periodization used in Awe et al. (2021) collapses three millennia of changes that subsumes the final millennium of the Late Archaic period.”
The correct reference is Kennett et al. 2020.
On page 466, a date and the location of an artifact were reported incorrectly.
The original sentence read:
“An additional Lowe-like point recovered in 2019 from another rock shelter in southern Belize was dated as much as 1,300 years more recent (6.9-6.6 ka B.P.), so the dating of these tools is still emerging (Prufer et al. 2021:Figure 8).”
The corrected sentence is as follows:
“An additional Lowe-like point recovered in 2019 from MHCP was dated to 8.9–8.6 ka B.P. (Prufer et al. 2021:Figure 8), so the dating of these tools is still emerging.”
The author regrets the errors.
