With this issue of the Journal of Linguistics we note the retirement from the editorial team of Bob Borsley, who has been an editor since 1994. We are most grateful for his contribution to shaping the journal and pleased that he will continue his connection with the journal as a member of the editorial board. Bob’s place as an editor is taken by Hans van de Koot of University College London. We are very pleased to welcome Hans to the editorial team and look forward to working with him.

We are also pleased to announce that, beginning with the present issue, the Journal of Linguistics is now published four times a year, in February, April, August and November. This is a response to a large number of high quality submissions that we receive. We can now publish more papers per year and thus reduce the time between papers’ publication online, in FirstView, and their publication in print. We thank the authors and the referees for their continuing contribution.
