I am pleased to present Volume 12 Issue 1 of the Journal of Radiotherapy in Practice.

Every year, Cambridge University Press sponsor a prize for the best paper to recognise the best original paper published in the Journal and the best reviewer from the Journal’s reviewers. The award is a book title published by Cambridge University Press; the procedure and criteria for these awards can be found on the Journals website.

I am pleased to announce the award for the best paper published in Volume 11 is by the authors Kieng Tan, Angela Cashell and Amanda Bolderston and is titled: Encouraging reflection: Do professional development workshops increase the skill level and use of reflection in practice?1

I should like to thank all the reviewers who have contributed to ensuring the high standard of publications during 2012. A full list of reviewers is published as a Supplementary File (online only) to this Editorial (Supplementary Material 1). There are so many reviewers who deserve the award of best reviewer; however, for Volume 11, this is awarded to Dr Alison Scott who is a Radiotherapy Physicist in the Physics Department at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Professor Angela Duxbury
