We are happy to report that we have continued to make progress on improving the speed of the Legal Theory review process. For the year 2022, the average time from submission to desk rejection or external review was down to 26 days (from 37 days in 2021), and the average time to decision after reviewer reports was 4.5 months (down from 5–6 months in 2021). Although we aim to maintain these lower numbers, we anticipate that there will be fluctuations from year to year, in part because, like all journals, Legal Theory continues to experience difficulties finding reviewers. Nevertheless, we are pleased with the improvements to our process. Our acceptance rate for 2022 was 10.2 percent, with total submissions of 108 manuscripts.

Once again, we thank our managing editor, Mariam Kazanjian, who skillfully oversees the submission and review process and keeps it running smoothly. Thanks are also due to those at Cambridge University Press who manage the publication process, and especially to Rebecca O'Rourke, who supervises the journal, responds to editor concerns, and keeps us informed of developments at the press.

Each year, Cambridge provides awards to our top reviewers in thanks for their efforts to support high-quality research in legal theory. The 2022 Reviewer Award recipients are:

Michelle Madden Dempsey, Villanova University
Felipe Jiménez, University of Southern California
Nina Varsava, University of Wisconsin

We are grateful to the recipients—and to all of our reviewers—for their excellent work and their support of Legal Theory, and we thank our authors for allowing us to consider their high-quality submissions.

We hope all of our readers, authors, and reviewers had a happy 2022, and we extend our best wishes for 2023.
