I am honored to assume the position of the Editor-in-Chief of Iranian Studies and I am humbled by the generous and kind support I have received from Dr. Sussan Siavoshi, my predecessor, Dr. Aria Fani, the Deputy Editor, the Associate Editors, the Book Review Editors, and the editorial team at Cambridge University Press. In the period of transition that began in January 2023, I have benefited immensely from Dr. Siavoshi's sound advice and helpful suggestions. While I still have much to learn, I look forward to continuing in her footsteps and maintaining the journal's scholarly standards, reputation, and outreach. As a longstanding member of the Association for Iranian Studies and a past president, I have a keen interest in ensuring the journal's continued success. Over the course of my career, I have seen the journal flourish and become a more inviting space for the multiplicity of disciplines it encompasses. I would like to build on this tradition and to invite our younger colleagues to contribute to the journal's growth and future directions. I am especially grateful to Dr. Firoozeh Kashani-Sabet, the President of the Association for Iranian Studies, for her support and confidence in my ability to steer the journal over the next five years.
