With this issue of the Journal of Linguistics, Melanie Green steps down from the editorial team. We thank her for her three years of dedicated service as the book review editor. We are pleased to welcome Laura Bailey as the new book review editor.

We are also pleased to announce two new content developments in the Journal of Linguistics. First, we invite well-developed proposals for occasional guest-edited special issues. Special issue papers will have strong theoretical content and be accessible to the broad JL readership. Proposals will be subject to editorial consideration with reference to the Journal’s editorial policy. Secondly, the Journal opens its pages to occasional papers summarising and reflecting on some aspect of theoretical linguistics. These contributions will be commissioned, though offers can be submitted for editorial consideration of their theme, scope and accessibility with regard to the Journal’s editorial policy. If approved for further consideration, these and special issue papers will be subject to the Journal’s standard refereeing procedure. We also inform our readers that Cambridge University Press has moved the processing of JL manuscripts to the ScholarOne/Manuscript Central system. This means that submissions, refereeing and editorial decisions are now done online.
