Dear TAM Readership:

I want to thank our amazing community of scholars for five fantastic years of submissions, support, and groundbreaking research in the field of Latin American History. We arrived at the journal's seventy-fifth anniversary this year.

As I step down as Editor-in-Chief, I am delighted to see the journal thriving and moving forth stronger than ever. Our relationship with Cambridge University Press has enabled us to expand our readership, implement new creative endeavors, and modernize our operations. Throughout our transition to Cambridge, we have remained wholeheartedly true to our values: supporting younger scholars, publishing world-class primary research, retaining a “hands-on” and intensive editorial culture, and encouraging a nurturing sense of community among the vast array of scholars who conduct research on Latin America throughout the world.

To those of us who are members of the board, this journal is also a source of a tremendously vital intellectual community and academic family. As a testament to this, even my children (Ben, Brandon, and Allyson) have been involved in the life of the journal. Thank you, TAMistas, for allowing me to steer The Americas for nearly five incredible years.
